Why people give to County of San Diego Department of Animal Services

Every donor is invited to share what made them choose this organization. These are their stories.

  • “My whole life I have had a pet at my side. All rescued or a stray that needed a home. I have volunteered at rescues and shelters for several years, including SD Animal Services, and see how resilient and loving these animals are. The volunteer staff here go above and beyond!! The animals are cared for and I have full trust. Will always support as much as I can.”

  • “I did short term fostering for the County of San Diego Department of Animal Services at the Bonita shelter for about a year. I gave dogs short breaks from the shelter environment to help them reset and feel more calm. Last month I fostered a dog, husky mix Sophie, I decided I could not live without. I adopted her Last March!”
