The Virginia Beach Animal Care and Adoption Center is the city’s open-admission, public shelter dedicated to protecting and rehoming animals in need. Each year, we provide compassionate care for approximately 6,000 lost, stray, surrendered, and homeless pets. Our mission is to reunite lost animals with their families, find loving homes through adoption, and ensure every animal receives humane treatment while in our care. Beyond sheltering, we are committed to educating our community and serving as a resource for responsible pet ownership.
